Auf Zeit:
800m Sprint
Sprinte, so schnell du kannst, gib alles!
Um dich vorzubereiten, renne locker 800m, erhole dich, bis sich dein Atem beruhigt hat. Dann sprinte die 800m. Warte, bis sich deine Atmung normalisiert hat und renne nochmals locker 800m.
For time:
800m sprint
This will be a maximum effort 800m sprint. Go all-out!
To prepare yourself run an easy 800m, rest until your breath calms down. Then do the 800m sprint. Wait until your breathing normalised, cool down with another easy 800m run.

Forgot my exact time, but it was somewhere in the 2:3x area I believe.

Mirko, you were after Claudia and Tom (times are correct, but the order may be wrong with you and Tom)?
Times (approximately 800m):
Dino 2:09
Me 2:18
Josh 2:21
Claudia 2:31
Tom 2:32
Mirko 2:34
Dominique 2:34 (did it alone, that’s a lot harder!!)
Laurent 2:54
Tis 2:58
Marina 3:13
Maya 3:28
Rebi 3:34
This was a good thing, I didn’t run (sometimes I play soccer) regularly the last two years, I even hate doing WOD’s which involve running, but I kept on doing metcons, I hit them hard, and I’m definitely happy with my performance tonight!
It’s true what they say, you can improve your endurance through CrossFit. Another test would be a 5k or 10k run, probably going to do that once this year.
CrossFitters, you did a great job tonight! Short distance running is mentally tough, you all passed!

I was definitely ahead of Tom, and fairly certain that I was ahead of Claudia as well.
You’re right, it was a good thing. I haven’t gone for a run since I started doing Crossfit (except during my last WK), but I’m positive that I wouldn’t have been able to run this fast before. And to be honest, I could’ve gone a lot faster if I’d pushed myself a bit more. Guess I need to work on the mental part a bit.

2:34, as mentioned. The WOD reminded me of the interval runs I used to do in the woods, a few years ago. 30 minute workout, 5 minute warm-up run and then 2 mins sprint / 2 mins rest. I was 10kgs lighter and not as strong, though.
It’s a mental game, but it still sucks. If you manage to ’space out‘, it allows you to keep the pace fairly high. A good experience overall.
Just for fun, check out the reading of yesterdays run:

Intensity is what makes CrossFit so effective.

Sorry Mirko, I gave the wrong informations to Ramon.
The corrected ranking is:
Dino 2:09
Me 2:18
Josh 2:21
Mirko 2:31
Tom 2:32
Claudia 2:34
Dominique 2:34 (did it alone, that’s a lot harder!!)
Laurent 2:54
Tis 2:58
Marina 3:13
Maya 3:28
Rebi 3:34
As you both said, this run revealed the strengths and weaknesses of everybody. About ten month ago when I started doing CrossFit I even was short of breath on a slow 600m run. Yesterday I could run fast and I think even a bit faster, that’s motivating me for more freaking runs. It’s great to share this with awesome folks like you!
