RESULTS SWISS POWERLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS (SDFPF) 2014

On Saturday, 22nd February, the Swiss Drug Free Powerlifting Federation (part of WDFPF) hosted their annual Swiss Championships. A record number of 49 athletes participated. The Committee thanks all the participants and all volunteers, congratulations for the great results!

What is Powerlifting? Every athlete has three attempts in the following three exercises (Powerlifts). There is a ranking for the total of all three (Powerlifting, the best lifts count towards the total) and there is a ranking for the single lifts.

Most of you did compete for the first time, most of you do primarily CrossFit. You all did an amazing job, I am very proud to be your Coach! Most of you did qualify for international Competitions (you will get an email with further infos).

I am numbers guy, so I let the numbers speak:

34 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals, 5 Bronce Medals (Cat Powerlift and Single Lift).

We broke 27 swiss records, 5 more swiss records have been set from ohter athletes coached by me.

We currently hold 75 swiss records and 2 world records in Powerlifting.

Reebok CrossFit Games Season 2014

Bald ist es wieder so weit. Die jährliche Suche nach dem fittesten Mann und der fittesten Frau der Welt beginnt.
 

 
Erste Station dafür ist wie jedes Jahr das CrossFit Open. Eine erste Qualifikationrunde für die CrossFit-Weltmeisterschaft (CrossFit Games) diesen Sommer.
 
Fünf Wochen lang wird jeden Donnerstag ein Workout veröffentlicht, das CrossFitter weltweit bis zum darauffolgenden Montagabend absolvieren können. Die jeweiligen Resultate können dann im Internet gepostet werden. Doch bei den Opens handelt es sich keineswegs um ein Elite-Event. Jeder der möchte kann am Open mitmachen. Ob Profi oder Neuling, ob jung oder alt – jeder ist willkommen, sich mit Menschen weltweit zu messen.
Entsprechend hat sich das Open im Verlauf der letzten Jahre zu einem riesigen Event entwickelt. Beinahe 140’000 Leute waren letztes Jahr weltweit mit dabei.
 
Es gibt also keinen Grund, nicht mitzumachen. Seid dabei, leidet mit uns, feiert mit uns.

Die WOD werden zu fixen Zeiten getestet:
Freitags: 19.00-21.00
Samstag, 1. März: 18.00-20.00
Sonntags: 18.00-19.00 (am 30. März: 16.00-18.00)
Montags: 20.00-21.00
 
Die normalen Klassen finden zu dieser Zeit nicht statt. Open-TeilnehmerInnen können ohne Anmeldung in diese Stunden kommen.
 
Wer sich offiziell für das Team von CrossFit Basel registriert hat, kann somit während diesen 5 Wochen ein zusätzliches Training in der Woche absolvieren.
 
An den Samstagen vom 8./15./22./29. März ist die Zeit von 16-18h strikt für die AthletInnen des Competition Teams (Spezklasse) reserviert.

Wir wollen nicht nur trainieren sondern auch feiern:
 
Am ersten Wochenende, am Samstag, 1. März, wird bei CrossFit Basel ab 18h ein Apéro stattfinden, gleichzeitig dürfen an diesem Tag ALLE CFBS Open AthletInnen von 18.00-20.00 das erste Open-WOD machen.
 
Am 1. März 2009 konnten wir den ersten Raum von CFBS, den alten Fight Club, einweihen und mit der Renovation beginnen. Das wollen wir mit euch feiern!
 
Am 30. März veranstalten wir dann als Abschluss der Opens ein BBQ im CrossFit Basel. Von 13.00-16.00 findet ein Strongman-Training, welches für alle offen ist, statt, von 16.00-18.00 kann man das letzte Open WOD absolvieren und danach gemeinsam grillieren.

Damit die Standards weltweit eingehalten werden, müssen die Workouts von zertifizierten Schiedsrichtern/Judges abgenommen werden. Jeder und jede, die daran interessiert ist, kann durch einen Online-Test Judge werden.
 
Hier könnt ihr den Test absolvieren.
 
Falls ihr den Judges Course schon erfolgreich absolviert habt, meldet euch doch bitte bei Ramon.Not long to wait now – the annual search for the fittest man and fittest woman on earth is going to start soon!

The first station for this is as always the CrossFit Open. A first qualifying round for the CrossFit World Championship (CrossFit Games) this summer.

For five weeks, a new workout is published every Thursday. CrossFitters worldwide are able to complete this WOD until the following Monday evening. The according results can then be posted online.

The Open is in no way an elite-event. Everybody who wishes to participate, can do so! If you are a Pro or a Newbie, young or old – everybody is welcome to be part of this event!

The Open has developed into a massive event during the last couple of years. Nearly 140’000 people (yes, onehundredandfourtythousand!!!) were involved last year.

As you can see, there is no reason not to be part of the Open. Join us, suffer with us, party with us. It is going to be a great and exciting time!

The Open-WODs can be completed at specific hours:

Friday: 19.00-21.00
Saturday, March 1: 18.00-20.00
Sunday: 18.00-19.00 (March 30: 16.00-18.00)
Monday: 20.00-21.00

The usual classes will not take place at these hours. Open-participants might drop in spontaneously at the above mentioned hours to complete the WOD.

Anybody who has enrolled in the CrossFit Basel Team is allowed to complete an additional class during the 5 weeks of the Open.

The following Saturdays are strictly reserved for competition-team athletes from 16.00 till 18.00: March 8/15/22/29

Since the Opens are a huge international event, the standards of all the movements are of great importance. Everybody participating has to stick to certain standards that have been defined by CrossFit HQ. These specific requirements are controlled by certificated judges.

Another thing we want to do besides training and completing WODs is partying:

On the first Saturday of the Open, March 30, we will organize a small aperitif at the box. At the same time, ALL CFBS-athletes are allowed to complete the first Open-WOD from 18.00-20.00.

On March 1, 2009, we were able to inaugurate our first Box, the old Fight Club. That is a reason to party!

To celebrate the finish of the Open, we will organize a BBQ on March 30. From 13.00-16.00 there will be a Strongman-Training which is open for everyone. From 16.00-18.00 you might complete the last WOD before we start the BBQ.
