Reebok CrossFit Games Open WOD 15.3

15.3 is in the books. It obviously was a killer workout. Our athletes gave it their all during the weekend plus some took a second chance and went for broke in the last heats on Monday night!

‚WOW. Muscle Ups as a first movement in a WOD during the Opens. What a nightmare. That is so mean. Blabla. No, this is not mean. This is CrossFit. It’s a challenge. Face the challenge. Have no Muscle Up? You have one year to work on it. And you know what? THIS is fair. YOU have one year to learn that skill. If you really want it, you will have your Muscle Up by next years Games Open. Here’s a detailed analysis and description of how many people managed their first Muscle Up within this years Games Open.

Back to our performance:

I am pretty proud of our girls – they did a fantastic job and overcame their fear of doing Muscle Ups. We had a bunch of girls who managed to absolve several rounds. Fantastic. Unfortunately, the guys weren’t able to keep up this time. For the teams, it would have been so important to have guys coming into the third or even forth round with Wall Balls and Double Unders.

Rank 42 in this WOD allows us to stay overall on rank 35. Everything is possible but we have to perform extremely well in the last two WOD’s. We will do!!‘

Strongman Season 2015

The start of the season kicks off on March 29 2015 at CrossFit Basel. CrossFit Basel is part of the staff and provides coaching support on Rob Orlando’s Strongman Seminars all over Europe. Now we are hosting a one-day CrossFit Strongman Trainer Course at our box – there is still time to register, go for it!

In this course you will learn how to lift Atlas stones, flip tires or carry kegs and the yoke. Plus, you will learn how to integrate these movements into your CrossFit routine.

Due to the fact that the objects you lift are odd and awkward in their sizes and shapes, it is a whole new challenge for your coordination and strength. This training also provides you with ideal conditions to implement strength and coordination more efficiently in your daily life.

In any case, this course guarantees a ton of fun and an outstanding learnig effect!

These events always guarantee a ton of fun and intense training, so we recommend you be part of it – Strongman Training is accessible for everyone! Last year, our Headcoach Ramon Gysin ranked first place in both contests and in the final. This means he became the third time in a row the strongest man of Switzerland! On all three contests, CrossFitBasel was represented by several male and female athletes from our box.


CrossFit Basel emphasises on Strongman Training cause of the high efficiency and learning effect the athletes can profit from. Measured by the performance of our athletes, we are one of the strongest boxes in Switzerland, plus we provide the necessary location, space and equipment for such events.
